LeBron James spotted wearing Nike’s RTFKT x Sneakers - Just as We Predicted on Our Web32 Podcast

LeBron James, the basketball superstar, was recently spotted wearing the special-edition RTFKT x Nike Air Force 1 Genesis sneakers ahead of the LA Lakers' Game 1 victory against the Golden State Warriors. These exclusive kicks can only be purchased by minting an Ethereum NFT, a collaboration between Nike and its subsidiary, RTFKT.

On our Web32 podcast, we had anticipated a high-profile endorsement like this, and we couldn't be more thrilled to see it happening! 🎯 Not only did LeBron wear the NFT-backed sneakers, but he was also presented with his very own 1/1 Clone X NFT avatar and onboarded into Web3 by RTFKT co-founder Steven "Zaptio" Vasilev and COO Nikhil Gopalani.

So, what does this mean for RTFKT NFT holders in light of our prediction of Nike onboarding more star athletes? Lately, a lot of frustration came out of the RTFKT community as they felt neglected by Nike. According to them, Nike was focusing too much on the (free-to-join) DotSwoosh community instead of the CloneX ecosystem.

As we’ve discussed in the latest podcast episode, we believe the bigger the Nike ecosystem, the better for the RFTKT holders. Nike will start to onboard more and more athletes into the CloneX community and might start

1️⃣ Expanded Clone X Ecosystem: As Nike starts to onboard more of its star athletes, they will likely be linked to the Clone X ecosystem, receiving their own custom Clones. This will significantly boost the attention and prominence of the Clone X NFT collection, attracting more enthusiasts and collectors.

2️⃣ Exclusive Athlete-based Subcollections: Nike could potentially launch subcollections based on the athletes' one-of-a-kind Clones, such as various iterations of LeBron James's 1/1 Clone X. These subcollections would further grow the Clone X ecosystem and add value to the original collection as they become sought-after collectibles.

3️⃣ Formation of Member Clubs: These athlete-based subcollections could lead to the creation of exclusive member clubs centered around the star athletes. Owning a subcollection Clone could grant access to rare, money-can't-buy experiences such as private events, signing sessions, and more. This will not only foster a sense of community among fans but also increase the inherent value and utility of these NFTs.
